On the criminal side, Patrick acts exclusively for the defence, driven by a commitment to preventing the law from being stretched beyond its proper limits. He has broad experience across the full spectrum of serious criminal work, ranging from life-and-death offences such as homicide and dangerous driving causing death to white-collar crime including money laundering, fraud and securities-related offences.

On the civil side, Patrick accepts instructions for both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of disputes, many of which are tainted with criminality, illegality or iniquity. Recent cases include:
