Practice Profile
Albert was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Gray's Inn) in 1991 and to the Hong Kong Bar in 1992.
Albert's expertise is cumulated from his substantial experience as a Court Prosecutor for the then Legal Department of Hong Kong since 1984.
Since commencing private practice, Albert has an extensive criminal practice acting for parties at all levels of courts in both trials and appeals, including his appearance in the Court of Final Appeal. He has defended a number of intricate cases including murder, rape, dangerous drugs offences and commercial crime.
Despite his interest in criminal defence, Albert also regularly appears as counsel-on-fiat for the Department of Justice.
With over 30 years of experience as an advocate, Albert is unreserved in sharing his experience with pupils and students, who always enjoy a sneak peek of his kaleidoscopic life as a criminal practitioner.
Albert's passion and success in his career oblige him with a drive to contribute to society. Admist his hectic engagements, he strives to serve the community by providing pro bono legal services. He is also eager to raise public awareness to law and order through education to the young generation. Albert has also been invited to sit as a judge by the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention Hong Kong in their mock trial competitions and has given talks for the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups. Furthermore, he is actively involved in the focus groups organised by Caritas by providing legal support to youth at risk.
